Why not a device of some sort with the ability to emit heat or a chill breeze depending on the user's wants? Smaller, perhaps, but less prone to catastrophic issues should something go awry with these "glitches".

A handheld device which inhibits both cooling and heating could be possible but will require a large amount of power to keep it running. Perhaps something solar powered so it does not rely on batteries or some other alternative means.

well. one dragon is a secret. i cant tell u who or where to find that one because i swore secrecy. but the second one, he is more open about it. he has his dragon form and human form. so hes around.
I don't really know much about the arcane arts but if you know how to create something similar to hex crystals from our home they would make for a reliable power source that could be used for many devices such as the cooling and heating one.

so have u noticed when we try to go to rumpitur and (ketsora too actually!), there are guards and all that? i maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay have something to do with that. on accident.
okokokokok! soooooooo about almost a year ago (WOW!) the rumpies were in some REAL trouble. they were suuuuper down on their luck, poor, starving, dying probably, and they wanted our help. or we chose to help, whatever. not too important.
and we did. a bunch of us went there with food, extra supplies, blahblah all that. and there was talk about the ke-kes (ketsora) were to blame or something. the rumpies suuuppper hate them, and the ke-kes suuuuper hate them back.
so urs truly got a little curious about that, so i decided to go over there. see what they were about, what kind of stuff they got for trading purposes, u get it. BUT!! there was this HUUUGE wall and those stupid bird people shot arrows at me the MOMENT i walked up.
told me to buzz off and dont come any closer. and WELL! the zaunite way is, if u strike first, we strike back. soooooooooooo i started shooting them. and they took me out. dont want to admit it, but those lousy good for nothing boneheads arrowed me bad enough i couldnt walk and junk. super injured. wasnt fun.
so i got wagoned back to aldrip for healing and then a BUNCH of the chosen got kidnapped while i was wagoned away. so i lucked out but i was PISSED cause the rumpies were sacrificing some chosen to squid mama. oh i was pissed cause i wanted to fight the squid mama by the way, not the sacrificing bit. none of my people were kidnapped, so i didnt care TOO much. the enforcer got kidnapped but got away, now THAT ruined my whole day. how in the heck do u screw up with a kidnapped?!??! its so easy!!!
where was i ? oh right so. yap yap, rescue mission happened, people fought squid mama, people lived, people died. yawn.
soooooo THE IMPORTANT PART. when i got all healed up, decided to go back to the ketsora wall. wanted to watch how the guards do their routine and shifts for. reasons. aaaand just so happened to have the hex gem crystal with me. didnt think it was safe to stay home alone at the time, so i took it with. and wouldnt u know it? a FREAKING BIRD knocked it out of my hand.
and then the stone started acting all weird and junk, glowy and more....... alive? like it had a mind of its own? im still scratching my head on that. so so so, i tried to stop it from bouncing, the ke-kes saw me, shot their arrow, there was a blast cone plant thing there too and so guess what happened?
KABOOM, thats what! the wall broke, some people were donezo, i lived (lucky me!). so when i came to, i grabbed the stone and bailed.
ke-kes think it was the rumpies so they have been at war with each other for... i dont know actually!! dont know if theyre still going. no ones been able to go over those two places since the blast. buuuuut word travels fast, and now they know it was one of us but not ME. soooo thats why we cant go to rumpies. woops!

I've been wanting to travel to Rumpitur myself. Perhaps it would be of some benefit to know their current state.
