[There are many things in the works on Bondrewd's end, and he certainly has no illusions that Fandaniel has been just as busy. What will be more exciting is to collaborate very soon. Bondrewd is capable of much on his own, but he does truly miss the Umbra Hands; to have likeminded individuals joining him in such ventures and projects is utterly satisfying.

Bondrewd makes his approach, tail idly swishing behind him.]

It does honestly still baffle him that Fandaniel wants to die. There is so much to behold, to learn and enjoy in their respective worlds and this one. Who would want to actually die before experiencing any of it? Though perhaps it is just as he implies, that he's lived so long that he feels his time is near?

The Aetherochemical Research Facility was once the grandest laboratorium on my star. Alas, what I have here is but a small portion of it. Should our keeper decide to gift me with more, I am certain you will find it quite awe-inspiring.

[He sways up closer to Bondrewd, all smiles and sparkling eyes.]

Then I shall hope there will be an eventual expansion. I wonder if I shall be granted a modicum of my old facility as well? That would be quite beneficial.

[Ah, he can't resist the excitement in Fandaniel's face. Bondrewd claps his hands together.]

Oh, a few humble ideas here and there. I'm most interested in the concept of death and how it impacts us, considering we are indeed involved in a mere simulation. Yet, is there a cost? What are our limits, if any?

I suspect this is true for you as it is for me: death is hardly a consequence, save for the fact that I lose my body until I gain another. How does it align as such here if these are not technically our physical bodies? Is there truly a limitation?

So, I submit to you my friend: we do a record of myself experiencing death here. Upon my return, I will share my experience in written word and video. Ah, if I had a way to study the soul as well, I'd like to include that, but I'm afraid I lack that kind of equipment myself at this time. I don't suppose your facility could potentially aid in that respect?

[You wake up in a courtroom. You’re not really sure how you got here, just that you’re here. There’s Jerry, sitting at the judges box. For some he might be new, and others he might be familiar or semi-familiar. He scrutinizes you, and then motions to the jury box. There’s a plaque that’s sitting on the outside that says “Council”, but there’s no one sitting there. Everything looks clean and maintained, but there’s no one in the courtroom but you and Jerry.

Weird.]

You are charged with despair.

[There’s something about his expression that makes you think that he might’ve already made up his mind…]

The Council has found you Guilty of this. In order to repent and further your rehabilitation, you have been tasked to move on from this despair, and show the Council that you are able to find hope. If there is no action taken, there will be consequences.

[You wake up back in your bed. You remember everything – Jerry, the jury box, the words he spoke to you. Maybe you remember the words he spoke more vividly than anything else.

However you decide to proceed… there will be consequences.]

[There’s a tiny bot that’s trying to get Fandaniel’s attention, it could be his, or it could be another one entirely. It has his tablet and whatever he backed up the piece of the AI in, and if he takes his tablet, he’ll see a few pictures.

The view from a beach, facing an ocean. There’s a city on the other side of the ocean – looks like what could be a fishing village.

Bones on the same beach, along with some vague articles of clothing.

The sight of a tentacle, with a golden blur that looks monstrous in the background.

You are charged with poultry theft. In order to repent and further your rehabilitation, you have been tasked with participating in community service that is righting the damage that has been inflicted upon the city. You along with others who have performed criminal activities will work together to restore the environmental and property damage caused by your actions. If you refuse to participate, there will be consequences.

[Jerry blinks down at you, fingers threading together as he looks down from the judges’ box.]

How do you plead?

[ooc: you have until July 9th to play out your sentencing. Even if your character doesn't participate with the Sentencing, you must comment on the NPC inbox for your penalty.

Also, there are effects for ignoring this Sentencing. Characters will show up to the damaged training grounds on time, and if they attempt to leave the grounds, they will experience nausea and dizziness and if they persist, they will lose consciousness and wake up back in the damaged training grounds. If they refuse to participate in the restoration activities, they will experience feelings of failure and guilt. They may even feel the urge to talk about these feelings with those charged with overseeing the restoration activities. If you have any questions about Sentencing, please let us know!

[Fandaniel glances around at the inside of the courtroom, empty save for himself and Jerry. The accusation leveled against him strikes him as funny, but he manages not to explode into a giggling fit. How, after everything he's done, is it poultry theft that got the Council's attention?

He smiles up at Jerry and bats his eyelashes.]

Hiii, Jerry! We need to stop meeting like this!

Ah. We have met before, yes? Or was our last encounter some manner of hallucination?
